December Daily 2017 ~ Get It Done! YT Series Day Twelve ~ Day 24

And here we are back at Monday once again!!

Day 12 in my series and today I am working on our Christmas Eve stories - 4 to be precise! Oh, and an extra for Day 21 ;)

Today you may want a coffee & cupcake but here is the video, sit back and enjoy!

And the pages

And of course, all the pages/stories in the album!

These next 2 photo's have all the little doors from my boys' advent calendar popped into one of the 2x2 pocket pages. Very simple, just the doors with the picture of each built gift going from left (number 1) to right (number 3) and top to bottom (number 12) with the exact same thing on the back side. While I was photographing I was thinking that perhaps it could be a bit fun to use one of the big tags to a little journalling documenting our advent calendars for the year so that may pop up in tomorrow's video, or perhaps even some time later ;)

Christmas Day tomorrow and when that's done I know I'm on the home stretch, phew!! On target for the end of the month, #winning!!

Until tomorrow
happy scrapping!!

December Daily 2017 ~ Get It Done! YT Series Day Eleven ~ Day 23

Welcome to my blog today, day 11!!

Not too much fluffing around with words today straight into the video

And here is the photo from today's video! Yep, one single photo!! Tomorrow I will be sharing at least day 24 which I know will be a big one with so many little, special stories I want to include! I am hoping to get a little bit of a marathon on and hoping to get a couple of days in front again but we shall see ;)

Here is the page in the album.

I am not certain what I am going to do with the pocket page next to it as yet, I may simply leave as is but I think I will do a little journalling to explain WHY I have the Santa letters for this year ;)

That's it for me for today! Once again, thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and I hope you are enjoying my little series!!

Until tomorrow,
Melinda

December Daily 2017 ~ Get It Done! YT Series Day Ten ~ Day 22

Gosh, it's already Saturday! This week has FLOWN by in a total blur! Today is day 10 in my YT series, Get It Done and today I'm working on just one day - day 22 - which goes over 2 page protectors!

Here is todays video

And here are today's photos!

And in the album!

Just as a side note, I would like to apologise for the quality of the in album photo's. The way my light box is set up it is really tricky for me to get photos of the spread without flares/glares etc so I am doing the best I can. I know I need to play with the lights etc but that's just going to have to wait for now!

So, that's our day 22 done and dusted and in the album! I'll be back again tomorrow and look forward to sharing my next entry with you!

Until then, happy scrapping!

{Colour Blast} Kisses Emmy?! ~ A Scrapbook Layout

Hey, hey and happy Saturday!! I am here sharing my latest make for Colour Blast and be warned, this a super bright and fun page!!

With this page I am telling a bit of a cute & funny story about my big boy and my baby nephew!! My big boy is OBSESSED!! Which, of course, is ADORABLE! On Christmas Day when my sister and her family showed up Jacob totally doted all over his cousin. After most people left Jacob hogged him on the couch and asked him repeatedly for kisses and as we all know kisses from an 8 month old are open mouthed with grabby hands!! But Jacob sat and giggled through it all, he LOVED his cousin's undivided attention!

Enough chatter and here is my page

And my process video

And now, some step-by-steps!!

I grabbed this piece of white card stock (no gesso or anything) that I had previously used to “clean” some stamps from another project and added some more of the same stamp but bigger using my stamping tool (it’s the only stamp block I have big enough for the biggest stitched circle lol) using Versafine black ink.

Next I activated 2 of my Colour Shimmer Dusts - Amber and Sunflower by adding a little water and some more powder to my little paint palette.

With my activated colour I used a paintbrush and painted a few of the circles using a fair amount of water to let the colour drip when I tipped the page up. I did dry each circle as I went because I was working on an un-gessoed background and the card stock copes well enough with what I was doing but I wouldn’t want to add to much more water!

Time to build my layers. I pulled out all the yellow and orange ephemera pieces from the collection I was using along with a couple of black & white pieces also.

At this point I decided to add a bit more to the background. More stamping with black ink.

And some splatters! I used my pipette (I wanted bigger splats!) and both of the same Colour Shimmer Dusts again - Amber and Sunflower. I also used a paint brush to add lots of little splatters of the Sunflower. I love how using only 2 colours I get so many different variations of the same colour, even in the splatters! I found the Sunflower dried more mustard-y when I dried it with the heat tool and more yellow when I let it air dry!

Time to stick it all down!

And work on my title! I picked some resist alphas and used my Midnight Colour Shimmer Dust to paint them black and also to add some splatters all around my page - remembering to cover my photo!!

I added my journalling and date and my page was done!

I am so pleased with how this came together and would like to share that I got the idea of colouring my circles - I hadn't got that far in my design idea when I stamped a couple of weeks ago - from the talented Marta from Maremi SmallArt on YT.

And here are some close up's of the finished page! I tried REALLY hard to get the shimmer of the dusts but it's tricky to catch on the camera!

I did start this page KNOWING I was challenging myself to use some different colours to what has become my standard choice over the last little while and LOVE the brightness and shimmer I got using the Colour Shimmer Dusts!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you again later in the month!
