My baby turns 2 & Tiddly Inks Challenge# 139

Hi there!!

I am here today to share a card I made for my baby's birthday.

My littlest little guy turned 2 on the 27th and I honestly can't believe just how quickly that time has flown by!!

For some reason super heroes has been his thing that I picked for him pretty early on though I dont think he either knows or cares, but hey, that's a Mum's prerogative ;) I have used the super cute "My Batty Hero" for his card to continue along the super heros theme! You can find him over at the TI store here in digi form :)

Here is his card - which I had a heap of fun making!!

My copic colours are as follows:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11 and E04
Hair: E41, E43, E47 and E49
Black: C3, C5, C7 and C9
Yellow: Y11, Y13, Y15 and E13
Silver: C0, C1, C3 and C5
I also used a white pencil for the highlight in his boots and mask :)

I have used a white card base and some yellow textured cardstock (pretty sure it's from Stampin Up) and some Heidi Swapp paper (the black with white stars) from her Believe collection. I pulled out an adhesive chipboard red star from a Studio Calico pack and used a gold 2 from the Maggie Holmes Flea Market ephemera pack - I have set myself a challenge to use ALL of that up!! That little wooden tab is from an Aussie company called Flutterby Desgins. Love them!!

I am entering this into the Tiddly Inks Challenge# 139 - Anything Goes :)

As always, thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!!

PL Week 13 & The Fabulous Heidi Swapp!!!

Hi there!

Only 1 week to share with you today, I only have the one photographed!

So here we go!

Week 13. For this week I drew inspiration from a challenge I entered on a FB group. I can't remember all of the requirements but it had to use red and lime green, doodling, enamel dots and and a square photo. I began by choosing a photo and then came up with my bits and pieces and ended up with this little card

I have used the Bella Blvd Family Range. Love the colours and the hearts, just worked perfectly!! After putting this card together the rest came together pretty easily as I purchased the collection pack which comes complete with the papers, 12x12 alpha sheets and some sticker sheets.

Here is both pages together

And the left side

And the right

This week was a bit special for me as it included the Spotlight trips that Heidi Swapp made! I have had to include 2 inserts for this week as I had too much to include about seeing Heidi again!! Haha, I'm such a fan girl but she is just so genuine and sweet and funny!!

I actually chopped down a BH Design G page so it was just the 2 6x6 pockets but also found that I had to incude a flip!!

Here is the front of the 1st insert with myself and the fabulous Heidi!
I have used a 3x4 card from the Maggie Holmes kit for Heidi to sign, sprayed some seam binding in similar colours and also used some paper from Amy Tan :)

And the flip flapped with some journalling on the back and also more journalling on the inside of the hello make and take card we did on the day.
In between the 2 cards of the flip (where the ribbon is) is more journalling!! This was added in WAY after the fact!! My biggest little guy (currently 4 1/2) saw my instax print of myself and Heidi, picked it up and said "Mum!" to which I said "Yes, Jacob?" "Mum, that's Heidi Swapp!!" To which I have to admit I squealed a bit, giggled and said to him "Yes, Jacob, it is!"

Here is the back of that insert

And yes, Heidi signed on my book "I love you Mel!! Make Pretty Stuff" Eeeep!

And like I said I needed to do 2 inserts so here is the 2nd front
Pretty sure this is the Happy kit

And the back - again the Happy kit :)

As always, thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping!!

More PL!! Weeks 9-12

Hi again!! Back today with some more PL pages!!

I have edited and uploaded weeks 9-12 to share with you guys today so another photo heavy post! But I hope you guys enjoy :)

Here we go with week 9 - both pages:

If you remember last week's post at all week 8 was a BH Design L PP cut down so here is the other side for week 9 :) I used the gorgeous Simple Stories Daily Grind range for this week and it is seriously so easy to work with!! I also used my typewriter for the journalling - which I have since sold, my OCD just wasn't coping with the not straight lines and not even spacing blah, blah, blah!!

And the left side

Some Heidi Swapp brushes and I believe that arrow with the heart stamp is from the Amy Tan Plus One stamp set. I have used the matching chipboard pieces to embellish both sides.

And the right hand side

This was the week we added a new member to our family - my THERMOMIX - and I might add, still going strong, we use it pretty much daily ;) That is a little flip of my thermie undressed and when it flips up there is a pic of it all dressed :) Teal chevron.....droooolllll.......

More Heidi stamping, more chipboard pieces and more stamps from the Amy Tan stamp set

Here is a pic of the flap flipped

And, yet another insert - pretty simple this week - some art work of my littlest guys from day care - scanned and printed onto 6x4 matte photo paper on the front

And some Heidi love on the back

Moving right along otherwise I will be here ALL day!!

Week 10 - both together

Again I used the Simple Stories Daily Grind range - I just couldn't resist the backs of those 6x6 papers!!

Left Hand Side

More Daily Grind stickers and chipboard and also some Freckled Fawn embellies - the cloud, the paper clip and the "cute" veneer arrow.

Right Hand Side

And another flip on this page - down the bottom on the right :)

I did have to go back and add some journalling - see that little tag with the twine poking out!! It says "After putting these pages together Jacob was flipping through the album and noticed the flip flap and said "Look, you can see my head", flip, "Now all of me", flip "Now my head", flip, "Now all of me". SO CUTE!!" I did have some prompting to go back in and add in the little tag but am pleased I did, in years to come I'm sure that I would otherwise have forgotten!

Onto Week 11. This week I used the PL Kit from Anna's Craft Cupboard as I was their guest designer for May :) (Insert squeal - I was so, so, so excited!!)

Here you go

The cards are from the Jade edition and I didn't really add anything to the kit that I was supplied but it was awesome stepping out of my comfort zone!!

Here is the left hand side

And the right hand side

And on another side note - I have my completed albums sitting on our low line TV unit in our lounge room and have one on display all the time on an Ikea laptop stand. The only people to really flick through it are my boys but I'm totally ok with that especially when I see them enjoying flicking through. One evening my little guys were doing what they do and flicking through, my littlest guy pointed out Jacob (top right) painted as a pink and yellow tiger (he very specifically asked for those colours!!) and began roaring at the photo!! Jacob heard was going on and rushed over to join in!! It was seriously cute!!

Week 11 we also celebrated hubby's birthday so another insert!!

Here is the front which includes a flip

My gift to him was "that tool that you wanted to buy" but I couldn't remember the name of it so I wrote precisely that on a PL 3x4 card and popped that into his card - he had a good laugh and I go to attach the card and another photo to the layout!!

Here is the back

And last for today Week 12

Again, I used the PL kit for ACC but added in some Heidi Swapp ephemera bits and some Heidi Swapp papers.

Left hand side

We had such a busy weekend I HAD to do a 6x8 collage and managed to fill a 6x4 PL card with journalling about the day!

And the right hand side

I love, love, love being able to include video's in our album, who knows how long this technology will be "current" for but it is a sign of NOW and I love being able to look back and WATCH them!! Another flip too - I discovered in our 1st album that I was taking HEAPS of photos!! A little fast forwarding here but I only managed to fit in up to week 19 in our 1st album for 2014!! I got 19 weeks in and a massive 15 inserts!!

If you have made it this far through, thank you so much!!

I will hopefully be again very soon with something else to share!! Maybe something NOT PL before my next PL share!!

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!!

PL 2014 Weeks 5 - 8 with 3 inserts!

Hi there!! Today I am here to share with you some more of our 2014 PL album.

Again, not sure as yet how much exactly I will share but see how this post comes along!!

First up, week 5

I have used the Amy Tan Cut and Paste PL edition here and honestly, I struggled with it! But, it's done and I'm happy!

Here is the LHS

And the RHS

Moving right along as there's not a great deal to say about these pages, they're pretty simple, photos and journalling but sometimes it's nice to keep it that way!

Here is week 6

I have used the Honey PL core kit for this weeks spread and was reminded again why I fell in love with it when I 1st saw it last year! Love the bright colours, the stars and the fun designs on the cards!

Here is the LHS

Some random stickers from my stash, some stamping (including on the veneer "smile" piece), my dymo labeller and lots of journalling!!

And the right hand side

Again, more stamping, stickers and lots of journalling! I'm pretty sure too that since I was still playing catch up at this point I have included some stamping using some of the gorgeous Heidi Swapp mini stamp sets! LOVE them!!

Also, an insert for my big boy's 1st day at Kindy!!

I used one of the BH 8x10 page protectors
I totally love this pic I managed to snap of him - he is actually off the ground! I took a bunch of pics on his 1st day so did the little photo strip too. I used the Simple Stories range for school - can not for the life of me remember what it is called!! That text along the top - I created a hashtag for IG so at the end of the year when school is done I can grab all the pics easily and create a memory file of his year at kindy! :)

And the back

The original of this will go into the memory file at the end of the year but I wanted to include it as an easy reference so just copied it and printed at 8x10 at Harvey Norman.

Week 7

Sounds strange (especially considering I have 2 little boys!) but I used the Teen Girl Card Pack - totally love the colours and designs of the cards in this pack!!

LHS

I have used some vellum speech bubbles for most of my journalling and some of the bits and pieces from one of the many Heidi Swapp ephemera packs I have here!! That photo in the top right - the whole reason I do this!! This little guy loves looking through our album and it totally warms my heart!!

RHS

The little Tinkerbell card is actually a little flap with a photo under neath of the Maggie Holmes core kit that greeted me when I showed up to my BFF's place during the week - she really is amazing and I am so lucky to be able to call her my Beend!!

And another insert!!

Front

We celebrated Valentine's Day this week and I was inspired to get our story written down and documented so I went back and found our very 1st photo taken together and got writing!! That is his card in the middle on the right, made with love ;) Using the Maggie Holmes core kit and one of the pieces of 12x12 from the Flea Market range along with more awesome Heidi Swapp goodies!!

And the back

Some shots from our Valentine's Day date :) More stamps from Heidi, some Maggie Holmes paper, some Heidi paper, some veneer and some Freckled Fawn stickers and a paperclip.

And week 8

I used the Slate Core Kit this week, some Heidi Swapp stickers, a stamp from Kellie Winnell and some labels and washi I had here in my stash.

LHS

And RHS

This is actually a BH Design L (I think!) cut down.

And, yep another, an insert

I was lucky enough to go away for the weekend on Scrapbook Retreat! Beautiful location, good friends and lots of fun!
Again, more Heidi Swapp goodies, some Freckled Fawn stickers and some embroidery using an Amy Tan embroidery stencil.

And the back

More Heidi Swapp goodies (lots!!), more Freckled Fawn and more stitching. I really love this insert and it came together pretty easily too!!

I'm gonna call it done there, weeks 5, 6, 7 and 8 with 3 more inserts I think is enough for a blog post!!

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!!
