December Days 15 and 16

Hi there!! It's been a few days and again life has happened. More to the point this time, I have been sick with a stupid summer cold and it has worn me out!! Oh well, it could always be worse and I am grateful for modern medicine!

Today I am sharing our day's 15 and 16. 17 is almost done, I just need to add my journalling in strips from the typewriter. 18 and 19 I have stories for so it shouldn't take me long to get back into the swing of things. Saying that however, I seriously cannot believe we are only 5 short days from the BIG day for this year, yikes!!

So, here is our day 15

All about our christmas cards for the year. And just as a side note, I wrote I was hoping to get the cards posted that need to be posted done by Friday and I indeed had that happen, yay!!

Most of the bits on this page were from the kit I have been using. The December strip, the red paper and the red bow all came from my stash :)

Day 16

All about Jacob's teachers!! He was so excited to give them their little gifts and cards. I printed the cards for him to decorate and wrote a personal message on the inside from myself while Jacob wrote his name is his cute 5 year old self writing - I love it!! We made some  reindeer bell ornaments thanks to our Elf on the Shelf Pixie and Jacob wanted to gift one each to his teachers :)

Also, the 16th marks 1 year that my Pop has been gone. I found some words (finally!) that I wanted to write and remember on his 1st anniversary, popped them onto a tag from the kit, into a little baggie from the kit and behind my journalling card for the day.

And the last photo for the day, days 15 and 16 together as they sit in the album

Hubby is out tonight so I am hoping to have some energy and motivation to get the words written down for day 17 (my big boys last day of Pre-Primary!) and days 18 and 19 (possibly plan day 20) together. I hope to be back with an update tomorrow, so fingers crossed!!

I hope you are enjoying your December whatever you are doing and happy scrapping!!

December Day 14

Hello, hello from me to you today!! I'm sharing with you today our day 14, or more, MY day 14. But with Mum's what is their's is everyone's. Thankfully it seems the germs are ONLY mine which is a blessing, I don't really want sick kids or a sick husband, especially when he has been so eager to help me out!!

So, MY day 14 looked like this

Yep, a bunch of cold and flu and sore throat medication. A trip to the Dr confirmed it was a virus - which is both a good thing (nothing serious) and a bad thing (nothing to kick it's butt outta my system!!) but, at the end of the day, it is what it is, December or not!! Haha!

The only things not from my kit from The Stamp Spot are those stamps - I pulled them from my stash. I actually brought them awhile ago from Michelle and if they look like something you wanted to add to your stash head over to her website, she is having a clearance at the moment and when I last checked these stamps were still available - at 40% off. As is the rest of the store!! She has a blurb on her front page, time for a re-brand and re-think etc on her behalf.

I realised when I snapped this photo that I had forgotten a couple of "in the album" shots so first up here is day 14 next to day 13 in our album.

And here is page 1 of day 12 next to day 11

I love the difference in size!!

And page 2 of day 12 next to day 13 :)

That's it for me for today!! Good timing, dinner is ready ;)

Hopefully I will find some mojo today or tomorrow morning to get day 15 done - teacher cards and gifts!! Otherwise, I will be back with some more days of our DD as soon as I feel up to it!

Happy Scrapping!

December Day 13

Hi hi! A little later than the last couple of days but done!!

Day 13 brought about one of my most fave December magic moments, Santa photos!

A front and back design on a 6x8 page.

The front (obviously!) is a blown up photo of both of my boys with Santa and you can see from the looks on their faces there was no fear or anything, they couldn't wait for their turn!! The big alphas are from my stash and so is the twine. The red paper in the background is the cute reindeer pattern paper from the kit :)

And the back is 2 photos printed a bit smaller than 3x4, mounted on some red card from my stash. I attempted my journalling straight onto the background paper (which is the other side of the red) but it wasn't readable so I pulled out my electronic typewriter and did journalling strips. I punched a scallop circle from one of the glitter 6x4 papers, numbers from the kit and a few red gems from my stash.

That's it for me for today! I love how these pages turned out, I just love Santa photos and seeing their eyes twinkle with the magic.

Happy scrapping!

December with Dusty Attic

Hello fellow Dusty Attic fans! Today is (sadly!) my last post with Dusty for the year and my term on the team! Firstly, however a massive thank you to the Jen's for the fun and challenges that I have been able to participate in throughout this year! I have loved working on the team and seriously, I have a whole new love for chipboard!! To the rest of the members on the DA team, WOW, your work is truly inspiring and I have been more than honoured to be on the same team as you all!!

So, with that said and done onto my pages for this month.

I had big plans to do cards and 12x12 LO's as well as the week I have managed to PL to share but this time of year is just crazy so today I have our week 43 to share with you all. Week 43 is late October if anyone is interested ;)

I have used the Pink Paislee Colour Wash 6"x6" paper pad for all of the papers and paired that with some Heidi Swapp ephemera from the "Dreamy" collection and of course, a bunch of Dusty Attic chipboard :)

Here is the left hand side of the 2 pages

All of the chippy (except the page pebbles) have been treated the same way - a coat of white gesso and then some spray mists mixed with water and painted on. The colours mostly blended beautifully and randomly - just what I was after!! I used a mix of a yellow and blue mist separate but also made a green using both colours together. Love how they all turned out!! The page pebbles also had the gesso and water colour but I also added a layer of the clear gloss varnish to give them a little something extra :)

And some close ups

The chippy here is from Word Pack #33.

The chippy here is from Word Pack #34.

The chippy here is Page Pebbles #10 and some Mini Stars. Those mini stars are scattered about the 2 pages for continuity.

Onto the other side

And some close ups

This piece is from Mini Captions #9

This is a Love You Arrow

More Mini Stars and also Stars #1, Mini ABC Upper and Mini Numbers.

This one is from Mini Captions #6.

Page Pebble from Page Pebbles #10.

And another page pebble from Page Pebbles #8.

So, that is it for me!! Thank you for all of your support and all of the comments that have been left over my term on the DT. No doubt, you will still see me about, I have a heap of chippy, lots of ideas and I just love the mood boards that the girls come up with every month!!

December Day 12

Hello again!! Yay, I am so pleased that I am keeping up!

I'm not going to ramble too much today but here is our day 12.

We had hubby's work kids christmas party on yesterday at Adventure World - the only theme park type thing this side of the country! A very different experience with little people to the last couple of times we have been but we all had an awesome day and were absolutely shattered when we got home!

The day included lots of kiddy rides, some water slides - shame the weather is not co-operating more it was not hot enough for hubby or I to spend all day IN the pool/on the slides, but the boys LOVED it!!

I decided on not using a page protector today just for something different and decided too to go vertical. 2 5"x7" photos printed and matted on a piece of transparency for strength and little bit of extra room to punch the holes without chopping off letters from my writing. The very few embellisments I used are from the kit which is available at a discount here. I did add in those sticky black tabs which I stamped and embossed in zing gold embossing powder.

Really happy with how this turned out! Can't wait to throw together today's pages as it was photo with Santa day and the boys were so excited!!

I hope you are enjoying seeing our DD come together and that yours is coming together (whether it be in an album or in real life) nicely too!!

Happy scrapping!!

December Day 11

Yay!! I made it in time!! Haha!

Tonight I am sharing our day 11 with you :) Not a big story at all but just something a little special for this crazy season.

This time of the year is EXHAUSTING!! My big guy is winding up school and so very tired, which in turn wears me down, and so on and so forth with hubby and my little guy :) We were all shattered last night so a lazy take away dinner and a Christmas movie :) Well, sort of ;) The Nightmare Before Christmas - hubby and I love it but the little guys seemed less than smitten ;)

A very simple page today with a 6x4 photo with the day number attached, a 3x4 journalling card and a pretty, yet simple 3x4 filler card.

That's it for me for today :) I will hopefully be back again tomorrow with today's adventure which was a fun day out at a theme park for us!!

Happy December!!

December Days 7, 8, 9 and 10!!

Well hello there!!

Sorry for the delay if anyone as been waiting to see my pages, life has happened over the last little while and time got away from me but I played catch up last night and today :) I have day 11 to work on (which is today) but am up to date again, woo hoo!!

Straight into it!!

Day 7 - letters to Santa

As I have mentioned previously I am participating in Shimelle Laine's JYC class this year and one of the prompts suggested taking the photo from a different angle and I came up with these. I just love them!!

Top is my little guy "drawing" and bottom, well obviously, my big guy writing Santa! LOVE this shot!!

The next "page" is a bag from my stash that I have made sturdier by sticking in a piece of plain white cardstock, then I punched 2 holes and made little re-enforcer things using some of the papers in my tray from the kit :) The bag contains copies of the boys letters to Santa which I have scanned before sending off and this is what they look like :)

I just added a cluster to the bag and LOVE how it turned out - especially that "joy" hanging over the edge the way it is!! Apart from the bag and letters for "Santa" everything has come from Michelle's gorgeous kit which you can still pick up here - be quick, it's on sale!

How these 2 pages sit in my album

Day 8

Yay! My 1st shaker pocket! I added in the swarvoski crystal star just for a bit more bling from my stash. Everything else, again, is from the kit.

I am seriously loving just how much progress Jacob has made this year and his enthusiasm for all things Christmas and for giving!!

Day 8 in the album with the back of the bag next to it.

Day 9

A real, everyday life story! My Thermomix stopped weighing accurately so a trip off to the Dr. As a side note I got a txt yesterday telling me it was serviced and being picked up by courier today so yay! Hopefully will be back Monday!!

This page has a couple more bits from my stash - the alphas, the scribble circle and the red ticket I cut in half just as something to layer.

And finally Day 10

Yikes!! I was so spoilt in the card swap I participated in over at Kit and Clowder. My card is beautiful and is currently up on the wall with all of our other cards.

And Days 9 and 10 in the album together :)

I hope you are enjoying your own December journey and that you are enjoying seeing my album together!! Until tomorrow, yep, tomorrow ;)

Happy Scrapping!

December Day 5 & 6

Hi hi!!

Finally, 10 minutes to sit down and blog! Yep, today is officially day 10 here and I have completed up to the end of day 6 :) I have stories for days 7 and 8, maybe 9 and a story for 10 so I feel pretty good about it all!

I am also participating in Shimelle Laine's Journal Your Christmas project this year and though I am not "up to date" I have completed up to day 4 - a whole new approach and am happy with where I am!!

So, onto our DD

Day 5

Day 5's story is all about me! Haha! Well, about me and a group of crafty friends who catch up once a month for a crop. This being December we decided a Christmas Crop was in order! So much fun! Our host was amazing!!

I really am thankful for this group of girls. I have never really been comfortable or confident in a "room full of girls/women" but this little group just works well.

I was up to a full 6x8 page so that worked perfectly for documenting the fun night we all had! All of the bits (apart from the red cardstock and the big alphas) are from the awesome kit at The Stamp Spot. And I actually used both the front and the back!

But before I show you the back here is day 4 sitting next to the front of day 5 in our album :)

And the back of day 5

We had a fun little photo booth set up happening, lots of decorations and of course heaps of food, chatter and laughs!

And onto day 6

Pretty straight forward couple of 6x4 pockets here. The paper I have done the journalling strips on is one of the pages that Beth so kindly shared! I have pulled out my electronic typewriter and typed up my journalling before chopping it into skinny little strips. I really like the way the ornaments on the paper don't line up but you can sorta see what's going on anyways!

And last but not least the back of day 5 sitting next to day 6 in the album!

That's it for me, thanks so much for stopping by! I have thoughts and ideas swimming around my head but I think a good night's sleep is higher on the list for now so till next time (hopefully tomorrow!!) happy scrapping and happy December!!

December Day 4

I'm still trying to process the fact that it is indeed December so am having a bit of a What The moment writing this post!! Day 4, seriously?!

Today, in Perth it is raining! What?! Yep, rain! I can't believe it. Summer, where are you? Summer makes me think of December, water fun and Christmas!!

So, anyways, here today sharing Day 4 :)

Since it is the 2nd year in a row we have put Christmas lights/decorations on our front lawn I am calling it tradition, officially. Hubby cut these awesome trees from pallets and painted them while I was away at retreat a couple weeks ago and today (well, yesterday!) he put lights on them and along the front of the house!

2 photos, a journalling card and a title/pretty/filler card! Oh, and a 6x4 flip :) Most supplies have come from The Stamp Spot kit which you can purchase here, AND it's on special!! With a couple of things added from my stash.

That's it for me for today! Tonight I am to a Christmas Crop with a group of 6 other girls and am so excited. I may even have a couple of drinks!!

Happy 4th December and see you tomorrow!

December Days 1, 2 and 3

Hi hi!!!

Well, it is officially the 3rd December in my little part of the world and I am officially "behind" but hey, life happens! As the title suggests, I'm bringing you days 1, 2 and 3 in one shot and voila, up to date!!

So, if you missed it, I am using the gorgeous, full to the brim Documenting December kit from The Stamp Spot. You can see my share of the kit and the start of the album over here and you can purchase the kit here.

So, since I have been really slow off the mark this year I will also share the couple of foundation pages I have put together!

First up is our cover page

I used those big gold alphas from my stash. Other than that, the "december" I stamped using one of the stamp sets available from Ali Edwards and my sewing machine everything is from the kit. LOVE this colour scheme! So pretty and NOT wintery at all!!

Also, the only other page I prepped is a "cover" page for the 25th :) I love how this turned out! Again, everything apart from the acetate and the sewing is from the kit. I just used a Martha Stewart border punch along the edge.

So, straight into it!

Day One - Left page

The very few embellies are all from the kit.

Day One - Right page

One of the girls that was on the DT with me very kindly shared some of the extra papers from the Ali Edwards kits she purchased so that ornament has been fussy cut from one of those. The gold thickers that spell tree and the green chippy tree and the stamping are the only bits not part of the kit. I punched the scallop circle from one of the papers and just trimmed down one of the sides of that super cute pink foiled card that Michelle included in the kit.

And both Day One pages together in the album

Day Two - A one pager :)

I'm not sure who loves the antics of our elf Pixie more, the boys or hubby and I!!

Day Three - Another one pager :)

The journalling sums it up - that's the story I chose for today and I'm surprised I managed to find another Christmas story, that's 3 in a row!!

And Day Two and Three in the album together

So, that's it for me for today!

Planning on "being on track" from here on out but, heck, life happens and I have my tray with all my goodies ready to go on my CLEAN desk!!

Check this out, this was before (and a BIG part of WHY I hadn't got started yet)

And after...

So, Happy December and enjoy making and recording all of those special memories that this time of year brings!

Melinda
