STB July 2020 | Wonderful You

Hey my scrappy friends and welcome to my blog again today!!

Can you believe it is the 1st July already?!? Officially birthday month for me ;)

Anyways, I'm here with my next share for Scrap The Boys. Check out this mood board - it is so, so beautiful and I really love it!!And here is my layout.

As you can see I was inspired by the soft, pretty colours which steered me in the direction of this beautiful cut file designed by Paige Evans. It's from the Silhouette Store and simply called "Flower Wreath" (Design ID 232488).

For my title I have used one of the Annabelle acrylic pieces from the "Word Pack 2 Wonderful" set, available exclusively through Anna's Craft Cupboard paired with some holographic thickers.

I have recorded my process video and you can watch that in the video below, just hit the play button! I hope you enjoy!

And here are some close up photo's for you.

Make sure you head over to the STB blog to see all of the other gorgeous creations from the team and to enter your take on this challenge!

I hope I have inspired you to play with some soft pinks and blues and maybe even some florals for a boy page!

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Layouts Rejuvenated YT Series

Hello my scrappy friends and welcome to my blog today. Though I have not been as affluent at posting here as I had hoped here I am lol I'm here today to share that I have a brand new series on my YT channel called "Layouts Rejuvenated"

If you click on the video below you will see exactly what my plan is for this series and a little later today I will have my very first "real" share up on my channel!

In the mean time here is a layout that I had started at a retreat AGES ago but I just wasn't loving the back ground which started as this

I was lucky enough that I had a second sheet of this same pattern paper and started all over again and much prefer the second version!

I kept my title and photo layers exactly as I had them in the first version. I really, really love this cut file from CUT to YOU and love it cut on this pretty wood grain paper.

I have added in a little pocket behind my photo for a journalling tag to tell my story which reads as follows:

"One of my most favourite things about Christmas is the GIVING. I so hope that I can pass on my joy of giving to the boys. This starts as encouraging them to buy for each other. This year Mum and I took the boys shopping and each took a child, with the others list their heads and got them to pick out a gift for each other. They both chose something the other had asked for and were both so very excited to gift each other. For ease we chose to pay the lovely volunteers to wrap their gifts. The funniest thing about it all though was they BOTH the boys chose the EXACT same paper and plastic bows to go on the gifts. Both boys were so excited to get home and put their gifts under the tree and I can't wait to see what they do on Christmas morning."

For embellishment on the page I have dived into my Christmas stash and used from all different places but also used lots of stickers and that gorgeous bow from a Kikki K "Paper Lover's Book" and I am so so happy with this page! Here's a couple of close ups

Here's a peek at the layout I'm sharing over on my YT channel a little later today.

This is the "before" page so make sure you come back to check out the "after" page ;)

Of course, feel free to come join me on my other social media profiles for more frequent updates, here are the links:

Until next time, happy scrapping!!

I also have a process video for you and I do hope you enjoy!

Here are some close ups! While you look, have you got any ideas on who I lifted??

Ok, so, did you guess Boss Lady Gwen?!? If so, you would be 100% correct!

And here is the layout I lifted

Isn't it a beautiful layout?!? And so striking!! I love this one Gwen!

So, I have been getting some supplies together to play along with some other iNSD Challenges I've seen about. I hope to be able to share some more videos and some more blog posts sharing these really soon!

March 2020 Homemade Kit | Creations | 7 layouts & a card

Hello once again my scrappy friends and welcome to my blog!

Today's share is to show you all of the things I created with my March 2020 Homemade Kit - in total 7 12x12 layouts and a card!

First up you can see the video flip through below - it's long, so grab a cuppa or vodka ;) The card is not in the video, I was inspired after filming lol

And onto my creations!!

First up was this one for Scrap The Boys March 2020 Challenge

You can see my process video below

Next was this fun page using drippy water colours and a tonne of ephemera pieces and stickers!

Again, process video is below

Third was this page, inspired by a class I am currently doing with Shimelle

And you can see more close up's of this on this post on my blog.

Fourth was another layout inspired by Shimelle's class.

As hard as it was to use it, I love that I used that gorgeous rainbow stripe paper!

Next up was this page - Seek Adventure In Books.

This page was created by following along with Sue Plumb's class that was created for a Cyber Crop and you can see her video here.

I did create a process video for this one and you can see that by clicking below!

VIDEO COMING SOON I PROMISE!!

Layout 6 was created while I was Zooming with a scrappy friend actually! I had a lot of these blue and green papers left so decided to create a stack with most of what I had left.

The paper layers were topped with these fun & silly photos of my youngest and this fun cut file I had cut previously from CUT to YOU!

And finally, with mostly scraps left I created this layout, again featuring my youngest.

The "Sun Kissed" title was perfect for this photo!! I kept this page pretty simple. A few layers behind my photo, some Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in Gold smooshed onto my background and a loose vertical line of butterflies.

I really, really love the end result!

As I mentioned, I threw together a card after I turned off the camera!

A few simple layers, a giant butterfly and a few of my left over ephemera pieces.

I am really pleased with just how much I got out of this kit!!

I did learn a couple of lessons too which I can use for future kits

- I added in WAY too many embellishments/stickers
- Though this kit was created using a rainbow stripe pattern paper as the base it became very blue/green
- I do love a bigger variety of coloured/patterned papers

So, I shall apply these lessons to building my April kit!
Which, by the way, you can find here on Khristina's blog!

I hope you enjoyed my shares and I can't wait to build and create and with Aprils kit!!

Until next time, happy scrapping & stay safe!!

K+ July Challenge | Create Art

Hey, hey my scrappy friends and welcome back! It admittedly has been a little while since I blogged anything but here I am for a new month of challenges.

I'm kicking off July with my take on the fun K+ challenge for July and I oh so love this mood board and my finished page!

TBH to start with I was stumped - I have never been to India, I have never done a Bollywood thing in my life and I got all caught up in the actual "Bollywood" theme. And then I looked at the moodboard differently. I simply approached it as a mood board, what inspires me? What jumps out at me? What do I love about it? And then it was easy! Bright, bold colours and (of course!) GOLD!

It's tricky to see it in the above photo but I have a big gold mandala design in my background that I have used the Foil Quill in my Cameo to create. It is not super obvious in the photo's but looks great IRL!

So, I have my gold element, time for bold, bright colour! I had a request recently on YT for some Minc action so I pulled out my foil colours and chose blue, pink and orange and then picked paints to match.

Nothing fancy on my back ground, just lots of bright splatters with the 3 colours I chose. And, of course, gold ;)

While that dried I Minc'd my title alphas, going with gold (create) and one of each of the colours (art). I just LOVE how this turned out! Oh, FYI, when I put stickers through the Minc I just stuck those to some baking paper, popped that into the carrier folder with the foil on top and voila!

Getting into the groove of Minc'ing I decided to add more shiny gold! I pulled out some Minc stickers and foiled those in gold too. They had too much white border so I ended up sticking those to white cardstock and trimming after they had been Minc'd.

If you'd like to see my process (and how I went from one design idea to my finished design) please either pop over to my YT channel or simply click play below! I hope you enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by but make sure you head over to the K+ blog too for ALL of the incredible DT inspo over there. The girls on this team are oh so creative!!

Until next time, happy scrapping!
