{ScrappingClearly DT} Top Nine

Hello there fellow ScrappingClearly fans, I'm here with you today sharing another page I have made using my most favourite collection of all time. EVER. The Starshine collection designed by Shimelle.

This layout started as a little idea that popped into my head one night while I was trying to sleep (does that happen to anyone else?!) and involved the stitching and a BIG title. My idea kinda evolved and changed during the making but I am super happy with how it all came together in the end!!

If you would like to watch my process you can find my process video here and read on for more details and close ups!

You can see the stitching I have done on the background (I used this paper and mounted on this paper) using a needle and thread and I have actually not stitched behind where the photo is. I used this tutorial to get my cameo to do all the hard work of making the holes for me and it made the process a) quicker and b) the holes were that tiny bit bigger and easier to sew through!

After the stitching was done I went in with some similar colours of Colour Blast sprays (bubblegum, sunset, saffron and lagoon) and did droplets all across the area where I knew I wanted most of the embellishments.

The photograph I decided to scrap was one that Instagram shared with me early this year and it is my Top 9 photos of 2015. I have included a little pull out card from this cut apart sheet behind the photo with matching number stickers from the accent and phrase stickers from the collection and a little blurb about each photo.

I have used the awesomely cool thickers in this collection for the title, I love all the different colours in it and I love that font, it's so fun!

That floral paper is one of my most fave from the collection and I HAD to fussy cut some of the flowers to use as embellishments and love how it looks!

I have secretly been hoarding those gorgeous acrylic shapes but figured it was time to get them on a page so I have used the butterfly, the word shine and both hearts.

At the very end I did a few little sprinkles using the Colour Blast Colour Spray in Roadbase (flat black colour).

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave a comment and I will get back to you ASAP!!

Thanks again so much for taking the time to stop by and happy scrapping!

{Project Life} Week 21

Hi there my lovely followers and any newbies stopping by today I am here sharing with you a recent Project Life spread I have completed!

It has been a little while since I have done a PL share and I have a few photo's to edit and upload but for week 21 I have actually completed my very 1st process video of my PL process so I would love it if you would stop by and take a look here.

If, for whatever reason you have not seen it or can't here are all the detail shots and little detail about what I have used and/or done :)

I have used the Shimelle Laine Starshine collection for this week, I'm pretty sure it is my all time favourite collection. EVER. I have used the 6x6 paper pad, the sticker sheet, the ephemera pack, the thickers, the decorative tape, the chipboard pieces, both the roller stamp and the acrylic stamp and also the rub on pens! Oh, and at the very end, some Roadbase Colour Spray by Colour Blast Australia.

First up, the left hand side in completion

I ALWAYS work on our title card first up so here is a close up of that

A couple more close up's of the left hand side

And onto the right hand side

And a few close ups

If you have any questions, please just ask away! I hope you enjoyed watching my process or seeing all the close ups!

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping!

{Scrappingclearly DT} First Kiss

Hi there and welcome to my blog this Monday morning!! Today I'm here with you with another share using the GORGEOUS Maggie Holmes Bloom collection and another wedding layout for Scrappingclearly!

Here is the complete page

And as you can see I have put alot of time into the title with that hand stitching. I am so loving it at the moment! If you head over here you can see my full process in my process video :)

After I had hand stitched my title I went in with a stencil and some of the awesome Faber-Castell Glass Bead Glitter Gel mixed with one of the fun colour powders from Colour Blast for a little added colour and texture.

Here are some details shots

The hand stitched title, I really love how this turned out!! If you haven't tried it and love the look it is SO worth the time and effort and makes the rest of the page come together pretty easily, especially when you have so many pretty things to work with ;)

As part of the Bloom collection there were these stunning layered/fringed hearts and for some reason I never got my hands on any but as I mentioned in another post I did I did have HEAPS of fun making my own!! Again, you can see my whole process for that in my video :)

But a quick run down of how to:
Find a big-ish heart (or any shape really!!) die or punch - obviously, I used a heart (die). I used one of the papers from the 6x6 paper pad as my base layer thinking you would see more than you actually do, oops!! But then I grabbed a few off cuts and cut a few strips from some of the other papers in the 6x6 pad. I have also incorporated some of the washi strips from the washi booklet and some of my offcuts of that BEAUTIFUL gold foiled vellum piece from the collection. I used my fringing scissors - Kylie has some in store here - and fringed the edges. I went in with some wet glue and stuck all my layers down in a way I was happy then when that was all dry I took the whole piece to my sewing machine for that extra stitched detail. These are so, so pretty!

A close up of more of the detail around the photo. A pink doily from my stash, some of the leaves from the Bloom ephemera pack and again, more of those gorgeous butterflies cut from the Flutter paper

And onto the top cluster! A couple more pieces from the ephemera pack, some crotchet thread from my stash and another fussy cut butterfly - this one from the 6x6 version of the paper.

As you can see, there is some stamping in a couple of places and a very light sprinkling of Roadbase Colour Blast Colour Spray and also some of the Colour Blast powder mixed with water - the same colour I did the stencilling in.

I ended up using this paper to mount the whole page on, I really liked the definition the black brought to the edges of the page.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope I have inspired you to have a play with some of your own pretty papers and embellishments to get some precious memories recorded!

Happy Scrapping!

{Colour Blast DT} Hello Darling

Hi there! I am SO, SO, SO excited to be here sharing my very first Colour Blast layout!! A massive thank you to Tenisha for asking me to join this incredibly talented bunch of ladies doing something we all love!!

So, enough of my gushing (I sometimes still pinch myself, I'm  honestly so excited to be here!!) and onto what you came here for, the crafty fun!

Here is the page I made!

In all honesty I just started this page playing! I wanted to use the awesome Colour Mica Powders as I had never used anything like them before (and the shimmer is just gorgeous!!) so I grabbed a couple of colours I loved (cool mint and polar - so, so, so pretty!!), some modelling paste, some white cardstock and a stencil. I totally didn't think to gesso my page I was so eager to play but am super impressed with how the cardstock held up! I sprinkled a little of the colour mica powder onto the stencil and then applied some white modelling paste through the stencil.

I wasn't sure what would happen or how far the colour would go but I decided that I was after something a bit more saturated in colour so I sprinkled some of the same colour powders (this time one at a time) straight over the stencilled areas and spritzed with water. LOTS of water. After I spritzed the mica powders I just tipped the page to get the colour to run and move around the page. I also added some of the powders to a few drops of water and used a dropper for big splatters (I forgot to take photos but you can see it all in the video linked at the bottom of the post!) in both colours. I dried in between colours and LOVE how the background came out!

As I said, I had NO idea what I was going to do with this background, heck IF I was even going to use it for anything so the background sat on my desk for a few days and then I was hit with inspiration and chose a photo of my youngest boy and a few pieces from the Crate Paper Little You collection, some veneer pieces and some chipboard pieces from Dusty Attic.

I worked out placement of all my bits and then decided I wanted to emboss the chipboard and the veneer. I love the pops of yellow in the Crate Paper collection so decided to emboss my stars (chippy) with the gorgeous, bright Sunshine Colour Embossing Powder. Two coats!!

And wanted to bring in a little silver (I had a flair badge in my stash I wanted to use) so used the Steel Colour Embossing Powder on the veneer words for my title. Again, 2 coats and it turned out ever so pretty!

Before I put everything together I wanted to bring a little yellow into the background so grabbed out my Sunshine Colour Shimmer Spray and sprinkled that across my page.

I used my tiny attacher, foam adhesive and wet adhesive to stick it all down and LOVE how this page turned out!

And here are some close ups of my completed page!

The title area

Isn't that embossed veneer beautiful?!

The top cluster

An even closer close up of the top cluster!

And finally the area under my photo/next to my journalling

It's really hard to photograph the sparkly sheen where I have used the Mica powders but you can sort of see it here!

I also recorded my whole process of making this page and I would love it if you stopped by to take a peek. The video can be found here.

That is it for me and my first post with Colour Blast. If you haven't yet tried out those awesome Colour Mica Powders I seriously cannot recommend them enough! They are so pretty and so FUN to use! The Colour Embossing Powders and Colour Shimmer Sprays have so much sparkle to them, like nothing else I have worked with!

Thanks so much for stopping by and see you soon!

This is Family {August Sketch Challenge Scrappingclearly}

Hi there and welcome to my blog today!

I am here sharing with you my take on the August 2016 Scrappingclearly sketch challenge which I had so much fun with!! Remember, Kylie has some AWESOME prizes up for grabs so you have until the end of the month to link your entries or share over in the FB group here.

Now, onto the good stuff!

First up, the sketch!

How fun is it? I really love working with sketches and the longer I scrap the more confident I become with using them and making them more my own :)

And here is my take

I have used some papers from the awesome Heidi Swapp September Skies range as my background and decided to start the page doing a cut in the background of a scattering of stars rather than the circles in the sketch and LOVE how this turned out!

Before I added any of my layers I decided that it needed some fun mixed media mess in the background (I had originally thought I would not use any!!) so started with a thin coat of clear gesso and then grabbed out my jar of fabulous Colour Blast Mica Powder in watermelon, added some water and used my water brush to add some colour around the stars. I ended up going back over some areas with a 2nd coat to deepen the colour up and am really happy with how it came out!

I added a couple of paper layers behind my photo. And went to follow the sketch more closely but realised that with extra paper layers I would cover up all of those stars and mixed media so stuck to just a couple of simple layers. As the sketch called for an embellishment cluster on the bottom left of the photo I grabbed some of the gorgeous florals from the ephemera pack and layered those up. In my DT kit Kylie also sent me this awesome pack of banners from the September Skies range which worked perfectly with the sketch!

I added a few embellishments and that awesome wood veneer word to the right hand side and used the Made Of Awesome alphas that Kylie also sent me for my title.

Here are a few close ups

Also I have a process video here for this layout if you would like to see how this page came together!

Thanks so much for stopping by and make sure you head over to the Scrappingclearly blog or FB page and upload your own entry to the sketch challenge album to win some awesome prizes!!

Happy Scrapping!
