{Colour Blast DT} Secret Santa Gift Tags

Hi there my lovely followers! I am here with you today sharing some fun Christmas tags I made for my family Secret Santa gift exchange!

I seriously had a lot of fun putting these together and just playing so I really cannot recommend highly enough JUST PLAYING! It's so fun and you never know, you may make your most fave thing ever!

If you would like to see my process click on the link below for my process video, otherwise read on for my step-by-steps!!

First up I cut some tag shapes with my Silhouette Cameo (you could do the same with either a die, some pre-cut tags or even hand cut your own tags) onto plain white cardstock. I used my sketch pens and I font I LOVE to write out everyone's name knowing I wanted to water colour them.

I left the tags attached to my mat so that I could easily keep track of all the bits and took it over to my work space and got to work.

First up some grey chalk ink with a Darkroom Door background stamp (Christmas Script) randomly stamped across all the tags.

I then grabbed the gorgeous Peacock Colour Shimmer Dust, added a little to an empty ephemera pack with a little water and used a little paint brush to colour the names on each of the tags.

I used some of the left over mix to add splatters across all the tags and when that was dry moved onto the colour paste.

I grabbed a little stencil from my stash and my Steel Colour Paste and again, added that randomly through the stencil across all the tags.

I knew I wanted to include pops of red so I grabbed out some packaging and my Love Colour Spray to do the trusty packaging technique to add some pops of red.

I used the nozzle to apply some splatters of the Love across all the tags as well.

I decided to add a flair to each tag so grabbed a few from my stash along with some red sewing thread to make a little nest for each flair.

After they were all attached I decided I wanted a little more sparkle so grabbed my Steel Colour Shimmer Spray and added some splatters with the nozzle.

A couple of finishing touches including red and white twine and some sequins and 8 tags ready to go!

I'm really pleased with how these turned out and best of all I really did have a lot of fun creating them!

I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas Day celebrations and perhaps some of you even found some Colour Blast goodies under the tree?!

I can't wait to share my next post in the New Year so until then, stay safe, celebrate in style and get messy!

The Great Easter Bunny Trap 2015 ~ A Page for Shimelle.com

Hello there and welcome to this somewhat overdue post!!

As the title may suggest I have FINALLY gotten around to sharing my full layout that was featured on the Shimelle.com website way back in March!!

I can't remember exactly what my theme was but from memory I think it was a black and white photo and Easter 😃

I narrowed my photo selection down to this one of my boys from Easter 2015.

Each year since 2012 hubby and the boys have set a "trap" to catch the Easter Bunny and funnily enough, we haven't managed to catch him yet! The boys love the challenge and my biggest this year actually set the trap with a little guidance from the husband - photos yet to scrap 😉

Here is my page

I have used a bunch of supplies from the Shimelle collections I had in my stash along with this awesome background sheet I got from Typo. Love the colours and the fun pattern!!

And a couple of close up's!

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this layout, it reminds me that I need to get some more done!!

Which brings me around to this little side note - I was about to draft yet another blog post for a DT page and found a couple of drafts sitting in my blog! Today is Christmas Eve here in Australia and I am sharing an Easter page. Haha! Anyways, to all of my lovely followers and likers I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the very best for the year ahead!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping!

{Colour Blast DT} You and Me

Hi there scrappy friends! I'm here with you today sharing a fun page I created using some of the gorgeous Colour Blast products!!

First up I started with some white card stock and a Just Add Paper kit from the D-lish Scraps store I wanted to use and applied a clear coat of gesso to my page - which comes in super handy when I start adding my Colour Paste and make some smudges!

I used a cute cross stencil from the kit and the beautiful Singin The Blues Colour Paste and applied a few crosses across my page

I also added some stamping which you can see above using a roller phrase stamp both vertically and horizontally with an archival ink in black.

I have then gone in with the Envy Colour Shimmer Spray and just sprayed colour over the Colour Paste and dried off with a heat tool.

I have also used the nozzle from the Envy and the Steel Shimmer Sprays for splatters and finally mixed some Singin The Blues Colour Paste with water and sprinkled that in the same areas.

At this point I decided I needed a little something in the top left hand corner so applied a little gesso, then some washi and then sprayed with the Envy Colour Shimmer Spray and splattered.

I then got onto working on my title veneer piece. I have used some washi to tape off the top half of the piece, applied some versamark ink and then Steel Colour Embossing Powder. I heat set that and then repeated the process 2 more times to get a thick, saturated coverage.

Now time to put the whole page together!

Here is the completed page and I'm really happy with how it turned out!! You can see my whole process by clicking the below link or heading over to the Colour Blast You Tube channel

Make sure you subscribe over there to see all of the awesome work from myself and fellow (very talented!!) DT members!!

Have a fab day!

{Colour Blast DT} Christmas Cards

Hi there! I'm here with you today sharing this "set" of 6 christmas cards I made using some awesome Colour Blast products!

I had so much fun playing and am super happy with how these cards came out. Playing with the black cardstock was a bit of a challenge but FUN!

I do have a process video which you can see below or you can head to my YouTube channel here. I also have some step by steps below!

First up I picked out one of my 12x12 stencils and a couple of colours of Colour Shimmer Spray that I wanted to use. I had a handful of embellishments I have in my stash that I wanted to get used so kinda matched to those using the Bling Shimmer Spray and Deep Water Shimmer Spray.

I randomly sprayed the 2 colours through the stencil on the whole 12x12 piece of cardstock until I was happy with the colours. I did soak up the excess colour on top of the stencil by applying a 2nd piece of black cardstock and rubbing gently to get a stamped image.

When that was all dried I used the nozzle from the 2 bottles and sprinkled some splatters randomly across the page.

I dried that off with my heat tool and then cut my cardstock down to card front size - 10cm x 14.3cm - ready to add my layers!

I did fiddle around a bit with all the bits I wanted to use but managed after a little bit of back and forth to come up with designs I was happy with.

I felt that I needed a little extra in the background behind my layers so grabbed my Snow White Colour Paste and another stencil from my stash and applied some colour using a palette knife roughly behind where the clusters were going.

I let that dry naturally, which really didn't take very long at all and then stuck all my pieces down!

I decided that the tag on this needed a little bling so I grabbed my Bling Embossing Powder and embossing ink and stamped a little sentiment.

I used a mix of double sided tape and wet glue to stick everything down, I wanted to make sure nothing moved.

Here are the completed cards and like I said earlier, I'm super happy with how these turned out and had so much fun!

I only recently discovered the beauty of the Shimmer Sprays on dark cardstock and if you have yet to have a play I can't recommend it highly enough!

Please make sure you head over to our FB group here and share all the wonderful creations you make!

Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!!

{ScrappingClearly DT} Tis The Season To Be Silly

Hey there scrappy friends! I hope you are managing to fit in some scrappy time at this busy time of year! I finally found some of my missing mojo and got to play in my craft room this week!

Today I am sharing a page I created using the gorgeous Pink Fresh Studio Oh Joy collection! If you haven't seen it yet you can see it here in store but I will link to each product for you!!

I have also done a process video for this page and if you click below you can watch :)

I chose 2 photo's of my boys from Christmas morning last year. They are so funny and can be so silly, hence the title of the page. The journalling tells the story and reads as such

"Trying to get a "good" photo of them together is near impossible. Wriggling, giggling little boys!! They mucked around so much I told them to get their silly on - photo #1! When they were done "Look at Mum and smile boys!!" - photo #2. Love both of them. Cheeky boys!"

And here is my completed page!

I used a clear gesso and applied a thin coat over about the middle of the page. I just adore the Under The Tree background stamp so did some embossing on my white card stock background using Colour Blast Bling Embossing Powder

I then grabbed out some gelato's in matching colours to the papers - I ended up using 2 blues in the background using the packaging technique - one is called Snow Cone and I'm not sure of the other!

A few splatters using Colour Blast Colour Spray in Lagoon and also some watered down red acrylic paint from my stash and then left that to dry and worked on my layers.

I have used some of the tissue paper my order came wrapped in to back the photos and chose a paper from the 6x6 paper pad to use as part of my title - the "Tis the season" part.

I knew I wanted to cut the word "silly" from the red paper in the 6x6 pad so figured I may as well make some of my own embellishments while at it ;) I quickly doodled a star on a scrap of paper, photographed and imported into my Silhoutte studio, traced and cut and voila, personalised embellishes!

I love how this turned out!!

It was around this point I realised I had little/no room for journalling so decided to stick the title piece as a pocket - gluing only 3 sides - and cut another piece of 6x6 paper to fit as my journalling tag. I grabbed a little tab thingy from my stash and stamped using the Oh Joy clear stamp set.

I also decided I needed something to ground the layout so chose this Oh Joy "Joyful Christmas" 12x12 paper and a light blue from my stash for a border along the top and bottom.

I finished off with some of my silhoutte cut stars, an acetate die cut piece from the same range and also the house and 2 stars from the mirror acrylic shapes. FYI, those shapes are FRAGILE and also have a clear protective film on them!

My very final touch is some stamping and some splattering of the Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Spray, again in Bling.

I love how this page came together and am so happy to have this memory documented. This range was just PERFECT!!

I plan on tackling one of the challenges next, have you seen them this month?! They are awesome so make sure you play along and enter your take/s for your chance at some awesome prizes!! Also, Kylie has a give away happening at the moment as a Christmas celebration! Up until the 12th December any order over $100.00 goes into the draw to win a WRMK MINT TYPEWRITER!!! So, if you've been eyeing these babies off and need/want to order NOW is the time!!!

Have a fab scrappy day and see you soon!

{Colour Blast DT} No Rain, No Rainbows Scrapbook LO

Hello there scrappy friends!!

I'm here with you today sharing this page I made  for Colour Blast Australia with some of the gorgeous Colour Shimmer Sprays and Colour Sprays using a cut file from Just Nick Studio's!!

Here is the page I created and oh boy, I had so much fun playing with this! I do have a process video that you can watch here and you can also read on for a bit of a step by step!

First up I cut this title and the clouds on my cameo and while it was still on the mat I coated in gesso as I knew I was going to water colour it and the gesso gave it a little barrier of protection :)

After that was dried out I picked out my rainbow colours.

Left to Right:
Love Colour Spray, Tangereen Dream Colour Shimmer Spray, Saffron Colour Spray, Envy Colour Shimmer Spray, Sapphire Colour Spray and Violet Colour Spray. As you can see I have a pot of water and a paint brush so I just started applying the colours in rainbow order making sure that where 2 colours joined up there was an overlap and room for them to blend a little.

This is such a fun way to use the sprays and I love how it dried off!!

After it was all dried I decided I wanted the whole lot to sparkle so I pulled out my Snow White Colour Shimmer Spray and applied a quick coat by spraying over the whole file and leaving to air dry. The sparkle is SO pretty!

I forgot to take photo's but I used the same technique on the clouds - both the ones attached to the rainbow and the loose ones - this time using a combo of the Steel Colour Shimmer Spray and the Snow White Colour Shimmer spray. Because, storm clouds are grey, and when the rain stops and the rainbow starts to shine they start to lighten up ;)

I left that to dry off and started work on my back ground which is a piece of white card stock. My first attempt was done using white gesso but I decided after I started that I didn't want that off-white colour across my whole page so switched it out for another piece that I used clear gesso on!

These progress shots are taken on the white gesso and the final page is the clear gesso.

As you can see in the photos further down I mapped out where I wanted the title, the clouds and the photo using a pencil and then got to work on the colours!

I knew I wanted to do the blue using the packaging technique and the Sapphire Colour Spray mixed with a bit of the Snow White Colour Shimmer Spray for some sparkle.

This technique is super quick and easy and so effective for a water colour-y back ground! I used the nozzle to apply a couple of drops of the sapphire to the plastic and then the nozzle from the snow white and mooshed it together like this:

And then, literally, I flipped the packaging over so the colour was face down and smooshed the plastic onto the cardstock until I was happy with the colours/effects I got.

And then dried that off quickly with my heat tool and was left with this. I love it!

I then decided in continuing the whole "no rain no rainbows" theme to add in some grey/silver using a paint brush and some Steel Colour Shimmer Spray.

And as a final touch for the colour I added splatters using the same paint brush in both the Sapphire Colour Spray and the Steel Colour Shimmer Spray.

It was at this point I decided to switch out my background as I decided I didn't want to add any colour behind where my photo was going to be so I have this background awaiting a different use ;)

From here I attached my title using some foam adhesive, my painted clouds, my photo, a flair from my stash and the very important (to me) journalling. I also added some stitching around the whole page after I mounted it onto a rainbow diagonally striped paper and also around the tiny layer of paper behind my photo. A mega giant roller stamp with the whole alphabet and numbers spelling out Winter 2016 in a few places and the page was done!!

Love how this came together and love that I got this story told. If you can't read the journalling here it is:

"Like Winter, life is filled with storms and I am always reminded that with no rain, no rainbows.
Every year I get excited when I see the my 1st rainbow and nearly, without fail, every time, I am reminded of just how beautiful life is. Rainbows are one of my favourite things about Winter as they always come AFTER a storm and are a promise of things to come."

And here is another shot of the final page and a couple of close up's.

Thanks so much for taking the time out of your day to stop by and check out my page. I had so much fun playing with the different sprays as water colours and also that oh so easy packaging technique. If you haven't given it a try yet, you so should! And if you have been playing with your Colour Blast goodies we would love to see your creations over in our Facebook group Colour Blast Creative Corner!

Have a fantastic, scrappy day!
