Just Adorable ~ A Travellers Notebook Insert

Hey, hey, hey!! I am right on time this month with my K+ share, haha! The end of the month is here already and I managed to sneak in at the last minute as usual!!

Here is the challenge for this month and I struggled for most of the month coming up with an idea but then suddenly, boom it hit me today!!

Here is my take on the September challenge

I decided when I purchased (another!!) a pocket page notebook from The Stamp Spot that I would dedicate it to our Snapchat photos! So many silly, fun photo's and honestly, how many 12x12 pages can one make with them?!? This is my very first layout in the PPN and I am super happy with it!

Here are a couple of close ups!

I kept it pretty simple; kraft background, gold (in the form of Bling Colour Paste and Colour Shimmer Spray by Colour Blast), black and a little wood veneer and really love how it came out in the end!

There is a process video for this little page as well, just click play in the box below and voila!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy scrapping!

{ScrappingClearly} Love, love, love ~ A Scrapbook Page

Oh my stars!! Can you believe it is already the 27th September?! Where has this last 9 months gone?! I am here today to share my take on the September sketch challenge and I have used the gorgeous My Minds Eye On Trend 2 collection available in store.

Here is a little sneaky at my take on the sketch

And here is the sketch if you have not yet seen it

And here is my page in full!

I really loved the ripped strips on the right hand side so without too much thought I RIPPED 3 strips off 3 papers before I could re-think my decision!! I have used the Elegant, Minted and Graphic 12x12 papers for my strips but my favourite and the HARDEST to rip into was that stunning navy and gold print (Elegant).

I decided to scrap these 5 smaller photos as my birthday story for my 32nd birthday as I knew I had a bigger-ish story to tell to fill the left hand side where all the journalling is on the sketch.

I have used a bunch of the stickers from the MME On Trend 2 sticker sheet including the diamond shaped stickers at the bottom as a banner on the top left hand side.

Those cacti stickers were simply too adorable to not use and with all that journalling and all the pattern on the right hand side I added a title using a combination of the MME sticker sheet and the "Sentiment" thickers.

There is stitching on the sketch all the way around the page and I am still undecided if I want to add any stitching. I am thinking that if I do go back and add it will be on the strips on the right hand side in gold but for now, my page is done, my story is told and I am happy with the end result.

You do still have a few days left of the month to get your entries in for an awesome gift voucher to spend in the store so head over to the FB group here and load your entries up into the correct albums!

Until next time, happy scrapping!

{Colour Blast} Breathe - An Art Journal Page

Hello fellow Colour Blast lovers!! I'm here with you today and I am sharing my latest DT project which is another art journal page!

Here is a bit of a sneaky peek

And I am playing along with the September challenge which is

So, remember, you have until the end of the month to load your project into this album on Facebook using the prompts provided!

And here are my step-by-steps (I did MEAN to have a process video, phone was loaded and ready to go but I forgot to press record!!)

First up I picked a page in my art journal that I had applied some left over products from another project onto some time ago! My White Heavy Gesso and a paint brush and applied a very random (I did not cover the whole page) layer of gesso.

Next up, I of course heat set that first, some stamping for texture. I grabbed my archival black ink and a couple of stamps I wanted to use and again, randomly applied those across my page.

Again with the heat gun! And next was some actual texture! Here I grabbed my Colour Mica Powders in Espresso and Polar. First I mixed the Espresso with some White Heavy Gesso (I accidently discovered you get this beautiful grey colour when you mix these products together!) and then applied randomly through a stencil.

I cleaned up that mixture and again with the gesso but this time Polar Mica Powder. I had left the stencil in place so again applied this colour randomly over the stencil, both over lapping the other colour and some by itself.

I love how this stencilling came out!! Remember, the more colour you add the bolder the colour you will get mixing it with white gesso!

I left that to dry naturally and started work on my chipboard. I picked a single word for my title and decided to emboss it using the gorgeous Just Blue Colour Embossing Powder. First up however, I wanted a "cleaner" colour so I applied a quick coat of gesso and let that dry.

Next up, I grabbed my embossing ink dabber, applied liberally, added embossing powder in Just Blue, shook off excess and heat set. So pretty!

While embossing I decided that the background needed some more colour so I activated my Just Blue Colour Shimmer Cube by adding a little water. When that was ready to go I applied the watercolour to the page, spritzed with more water and turned and titled the page until I got the colour where I wanted it.

Time to put the finishing touches on! Before I stuck anything down however I decided that I had this new stamp that I HAD to use so I stamped that 3 times onto some tissue paper, heat set and tore around.

Using some different fibres, my title and 2 of my butterflies I came up with placing that I was happy with and stuck everything down. Wet glue for the fibres and title and matt medium for the butterflies.

Oops, I nearly forgot my last 2 finishing touches!! I grabbed some tiny blue beads and matt medium and stuck some of those down around my title - I feel like I now need some shells!

And then I grabbed my fan brush and my Roadbase Colour Spray for some black splatters!

I love, love, love how this came out! I challenged myself when I started this page to keep LOTS of white space - which is VERY unusual for me in my art journal. I was lucky enough to have Fiona Paltridge create a page in my journal and one of the things I really loved about it was that not every single inch of the paper was covered so I though I'd give it a go myself!! Here are a couple more close ups!

Swoon, I so LOVE all that texture!

That's it for me for today so have fun playing with your fun Colour Blast goodies and make sure you pop into the FB group to share your creations, we love to see what is being made!!

Happy scrapping!

{ScrappingClearly} Zeus ~ A Scrapbook Page

Hey, hey ScrappingClearly friends! Melinda here with you today sharing my latest DT make!

I had a bit of fun with the moodboard for this page and am super happy with how it turned out! Here is a look at the moodboard if you have yet to see it or just need an update :D

And here is my take

Something a bit different for me - LOTS of empty white space and I really, really love it!!

I was inspired by the colours - the yellow, pink and green and by the splats in the middle of the board which is where I started my page.

I have used the awesome Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink pads in Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio and Worn Lipstick with some old packaging and the quick, easy smooshing technique to create the base of my background. I used a textured piece of white cardstock for my background and did not gesso or prep the page at all - I prefer the way the oxides dry not on gesso.

Look at all those lovely layers of colour!! To get that beautiful layered effect make sure you dry each colour before either adding another layer of the same colour or moving onto the next colour! I also added splatters of each colour after I had finished layering all the colours!

I added some stamping using my Darkroom Door Arty Circles stamp and the same inks I had smooshed - keep the pink with the pink etc etc. I love the extra dimension and interest this simple stamping adds!

I then decided to add a little more texture this time with a light grey ink and a couple of texture stamps from my stash.

When I saw the very Spring, bright and light board this month I thought it would be a good time to scrap the first photo's I took of our cat when we brought him home 9 years ago - you know, baby animals and all that jazz ;) So I printed these 2 out and added a few paper layers from the Squeeze 12x12 paper by Pink Paislee. I have used both sides of the paper to bring in the yellow and pink.

For my title I have used these thickers and since I brought in the gold I added a couple of other small pops of gold using gold thread behind the photo's in 2 places.

I added 3 of these Studio Calico printed veneer pieces in the green, the "hello" word and some of the white glittered hearts from the Pink Paislee sticker sheet.

My very final touch was some yellow sequins by American Crafts.

I am really happy with how this page turned out, different for me but fun none the less! Remember you have until the end of the month to get your own entries in in the FB group to win a voucher to the store!

Until next time, happy scrapping!!

{ScrappingClearly} Project Life 2017 - WK8

Hey, hey my scrappy friends!! I am back again today with my latest share for ScrappingClearly!

Once again I am using the very fun and Spring-y collection "Spring Fling" by Pebbles. I love the fun colours and patterns on that neutral kraft base in this collection and found week 8 missing all the cards and journalling in our album so figured this would be a fun collection to complete this week in our album!

Here is the left hand side of the spread

I have used some of the neutral kraft papers as my base cards (Celebration, Party Time, Patchwork and Spring Fling) and also some of the adorable 3x4 cut apart cards from the Cut Out's sheet.

I don't know how well you know your PL page protectors but for the right hand side of this week I have used a panoramic protector to include a few extra photo's and stories. Here is a look at the whole opened right hand side of the week.

And this is the the front of the folding part of the protector

For embellishing I have kept it pretty simple using a few pieces from the ephemera pack, cutting up some of the pieces from the Me To You patterned paper and the gorgeous floral puffy stickers - which by the way - I have used the WHOLE sheet!! Yep, it's done! Who else gets that little kick from using the last of a sticker sheet?!

For my title card and a couple of sub-titles on cards I have used these leather looking alphas by WRMK.

Due to the business and high contrast of the white against the kraft I decided that using my typewriter was the best bet for my journalling so grabbed some off cuts of some vanilla coloured cardstock, typed them up my words and trimmed into journalling strips. Easy, done and I love the flow it creates from card to card and page to page!

My motto for this year's PL is very much "get it done" rather than "make it perfect" and I am really loving how some of these pages are coming together!

I have no idea what I'll be creating for my next ScrappingClearly project but until then, happy scrapping!!
